Hey check it out… Nakota Designs, the Nakota Dogs Movement and one of our Raven Cry Skateboard decks is part of the….

“Ramp it Up: Skateboard Culture in Native America” show being exhibited at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (On the National Mall, Washington, DC) from June 12, 2009–September 13, 2009

Ramp it Up celebrates the vibrancy, creativity, and controversy of American Indian skate culture. Skateboarding combines demanding physical exertion with design, graphic art, filmmaking, and music to produce a unique and dynamic culture. One of the most popular sports on Indian reservations, skateboarding has inspired American Indian and Native Hawaiian communities to host skateboard competitions and build skate parks to encourage their youth. Native entrepreneurs own skateboard companies and sponsor community-based skate teams. Native artists and filmmakers, inspired by their skating experiences, credit the sport with teaching them a successful work ethic. The exhibition features rare and archival photographs and film of Native skaters as well as skatedecks from Native companies and contemporary artists.

Get over there and check it out its gonna be an awesome show… big shout out to Betsy Gordon at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian for making this show possible… she rocks!!!

Nakota Designs and the Nakota Dogs Skateboard Movement… and our outreach to inspire the youth of today, is inspired by Generation WE.

We started the Nakota Dogs Movement to help some of the local youth to strive for bigger and positive focused things, to be a part of a movement they can make their own. and there are many, many oppertunities with our clients, with friends, with associates, etc… and lots of outreach happening through the many sources of inspiration surrounding us. (more details to come regarding these plans.)

Listen to this inspiring source of inspiration on how you too, can do your part to inspire the youth of today.

The millennial youth are about to set the ripples in motion needed to change this world for ever… they are being called Generation WE. (Eric Greenberg) And we can help them… their numbers are huge and the Generation WE is the largest generation in American history. Most of us come from the Baby Generation which was 78 million strong or from the smaller Generation X that followed, but this Generation WE is 95 million strong, over 21 percent larger then the Baby boomers…. so, it is a huge movement…

…so let’s help them, show them the many opportunities available to them, from our Nakota Designs perspective through skateboarding, music, art & design, film and photography… that is the focus of our Nakota Dogs Movement, it is fun, it is wild and it is rockin!!!

JOIN US IN THE MOVEMENT!!
